Endorsement interviews: Sandra Fewer for School Board

The San Francisco School Board has long been a fractious crew, with members sharply disagreeing on a lot of issues. They still disagree -- but according to all the board members we've interviewed, there's a much-better working relationship these days. Sandra Fewer, who has served for four years, talks about that -- and restorative justice, ethnic studies and how she wants to build on her accomplishments in a second term. You can listen to the entire interview after the jump.

Does she think she's running for the sheriff's office? Actually it's good she's mentioning it because that position will be open soon.

You need to listen to the interviews before you post snide comments, II. Discipline is a major issue at SFUSD, and Fewer has worked to push the district away from the suspension-expulsion model and toward a different approach. It makes sense and often it works.

and she supports that model.

I know her and disagree with her on many issues, but she is entirely down-to-earth and honest in her beliefs. She'll take time to talk to you.

She got started in the schools as a dedicated PTA parent. I wish all school board members had that credential
